“Digital Transformation” is something you’re going to be hearing a lot more about in the coming months. It’s changing the way we’re working, and it’s beginning to define how we do things in the localization industry, too. From AI to big data, the localization industry is being challenged, but like all challenges, we can use them to our advantage.

And LocWorld36 in Tokyo is going to be teaching us to do just that! We’re really excited to be attending from 3-5th April 2018. While we can’t wait to learn more about digital transformation from the 50+ industry experts who’ll be presenting, we’re also looking forward to forming new partnerships at the event, too.

If you’d like to learn more about what Women in Localization does and how to get involved, we’d love for you to stop by our booth. You’re also welcome to join us for lunch, which we’ll be having at designated tables.

Here’s what our members have to say about the event!

Katell Jentreau, is a former W.L. Board Member and the Localization Language Manager at Netflix. She adds, “I am very excited to attend LocWorld36 in Tokyo this year for multiple reasons. This will be my first LocWorld participation in Asia. I am looking forward to meeting the attendees, including members of W.L. from Japan and other chapters, to hear their perspectives on localization. Netflix is growing in Japan and in APAC and our globalization teams are doing a fantastic job. I will also be presenting at LocWorld36 with my colleague Yuka Ogasawara. Yuka will be sharing details about the care she and the entire Japanese team put into localizing our product for Japanese kids. Since it will be cherry blossom season in Tokyo, I am going to take advantage during the weekend to visit the city and enjoy the sights!”

Yuka Kurihara is a member of W.L. chapter in Japan and is the Director of Globalization at Pitney Bowes. She told us, “I’m really looking forward to attending LocWorld in my home country. Tokyo is such a dynamic international city and April is the perfect season with the beautiful cherry blossoms. LocWorld couldn’t plan this any better. I have been helping LocWorld as an advisory program committee member since September last year. I’ve been involved in several aspects such as shaping the overall program, searching for the right imagery for the LocWorld website. During the conference, I will be hosting the session titled “User Community Analysis with MLVs” by Yamaha Corporation and Moravia. I have my own session as well. My presentation topic is, “How to Create a Thriving Globalization Community within Your Company.” I will be sharing practical tips and strategies for creating an engaging global online community. LocWorld provides a fantastic networking opportunity to meet other Globalization and Localization professionals from all over the world. I hope you can make it to Tokyo in April.”
