WLEA: Industry Mentorship Event

Join us for an engaging hybrid session on 30th March from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Africa International University, Karen, Nairobi, designed to equip translation and linguistics students with practical insights into the global language services industry. The event will feature keynote presentations by Gladys Cherotich of ByLanguages and Alfred Mtawali, a renowned figure in Kenya’s translation sector, who will share real-world perspectives on building a successful career; covering topics such as crafting strong CVs, preparing for the industry, setting competitive rates, working with international clients, and establishing a translation business.
The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A panel, offering attendees a unique opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals. This event aims to bridge the gap between academic training and industry expectations, and all interested students are warmly invited to attend either in person or virtually.
