EVA KLAUDINYOVA  has been working in the localization industry since 2000, first managing localization programs at Medialocate, and later leading localization teams and implementing new globalization, quality and vendor management strategies in companies like VeriSign, VMware and Apple. She is currently an Associate Professor and Program Chair of Translation and Localization Management Program at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, imparting her knowledge to graduate students of Localization Management. She is multilingual and holds a Master’s degree in Foreign Language Teaching from Slovakia, as well as a Master’s degree in Translation from the Middlebury Institute. Eva is also a co-founder of Women in Localization.

SILVIA AVARY has over 20 years of localization experience working for high-tech companies including Rivian, Juniper Networks, Symantec, VeriSign, and NetApp. Silvia is a co-founder and treasurer of Women in Localization. Originally from Brazil, she relocated to the U.S. in her mid-twenties and is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Her diverse educational background extends beyond localization. She holds an MBA from San Francisco State University, a Marketing Certificate from Berkeley, and earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree early in her career. Silvia resides in the Bay Area with her husband, three children, and two dogs.

Gender Survey

FABIANO CID is an executive with 25 years of experience in the localization industry. He is the COO of OXO Innovation, a company that merged with Ccaps Translation and Localization, of which he was the founder and managing director. As an ambassador for the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), Fabiano kicked off the Gender Equality in the Language Services Industry project. He has also served as GALA’s chairperson of the board and was the co-creator of Think Latin America, an event series designed to educate investors about Latin America as a business region. Fabiano recently moved to Montreal and is still adjusting to the weather but excited with what's to come.

With 24 years of experience in the localization industry, MARIA KANIA has held key roles in both sales and operations across multiple global localization companies. A Polish-Canadian based in Barcelona, Maria is deeply engaged in the localization community. She has been an active advocate for Women in Localization since founding the Barcelona chapter, later taking on leadership roles as EMEA Global Expansion Program Director, Global Sponsorship Program Director, and Global Sponsorship Board member. She now serves as an Advisory Board Member, focusing on strengthening the localization industry's presence. She is also currently working as a European Accounts Director at TransPerfect, where she leads a team of 13 Account Managers overseeing Travel & Hospitality and Luxury Retail accounts.

Gary Muddyman

Growth, Non-Profit work in Africa

Following a 15-year career in banking, specializing in corporate banking, Gary founded and led Conversis, a medical specialist localization business for 17 years. After stepping down from the day-to-day management of the business in 2020, he has undertaken a variety of executive and non-executive roles inside and outside of the localization industry. Throughout his career, he has been on the boards of many not-for-profit organisations including a stint with GALA (Globalization and Localization Association). Based in Oxfordshire in the UK, Gary also has extensive experience of business across a wide variety of countries and in a variety of sectors. He is a passionate believer in gender equality in society and in business and honored to play a small role in the outstanding work of Women in Localization.
