WLGC: Interpreting with Integrity. A Deep Dive into Ethical AI

May 23 @ 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Join us for a compelling exploration into the ethics of using artificial intelligence in interpreting.

Join us for a compelling exploration into the ethics of using artificial intelligence in interpreting. Our journey begins with the inception of the Interpreting SAFE-AI Task Force, a pioneering initiative committed to the safe and ethical use of AI in interpreting. We delve into the insights from CSA Research’s comprehensive perception study, commissioned by the Task Force, which sheds light on the community’s views towards AI’s role in interpreting for both spoken and signed languages. We’ll wrap up the session with a forward-looking discussion on how written and spoken word services will blend over time as well as the Task Force’s next steps, laying the groundwork for a future where AI enhances rather than diminishes the interpreting profession.
