You will lead the Women in Localization Japan Chapter and report to the GEO Manager.

You will be responsible for setting up the team, ensuring that all roles are covered and recruiting new volunteers.

Additionally, you will play a key role in driving Chapter engagement, fostering growth, and advancing the W.L. goals at the Chapter level.

Program: Technology & Innovation

WeShape AI by Women in Localization is recruiting one volunteer who will take on the role of Co-Lead for the WeShape AI Labs initiative, working alongside the Labs Lead and reporting to the WeShape AI Program Director.
We are building a hands-on innovation lab that provides structured support and innovation tracks to transform ideas into tangible solutions. Members receive guidance, and get collaboration opportunities to pilot tools, design models, and launch projects that demonstrate innovation at scale. Our focus is on multilingual content innovation and applied AI skills development.

What we’re looking for
Experience leading AI initiatives, innovation programs, or technical community projects
Background in vibe coding, AI-assisted development tools, or coding products (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Lovable, or similar platforms) is highly preferred
Experience in the localization, translation, or multilingual content industry
Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to coordinate volunteers and multiple workstreams
Excellent communication skills and comfort facilitating discussions, giving feedback, and mentoring participants
Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for empowering women in technology
Fluent in English

What you’ll do
Co-lead the WeShape AI Labs with the Labs Lead, sharing strategic direction and operational execution
Help design and launch the initial hackathon, then transition into managing structured 8-week cohorts
Build and manage the Operating Committee (3-5 volunteers covering communications, logistics, expert coordination, and participant support)
Review participant applications and project proposals, working with the Labs Lead to select cohort members and group similar ideas
Coordinate rotating expert volunteers (ML, LLMs, localization engineering, ethics, UX) for bi-weekly office hours and async Q&A support
Facilitate or co-facilitate weekly cohort sessions, providing guidance on project framing, iteration, and milestone achievement
Organize and coordinate Demo Showcases at the end of each cohort, including judge recruitment and logistics
Support sponsorship outreach efforts, particularly for participant tool access (Claude, Lovable, etc.) and operational funding
Track metrics and outcomes for reporting to WeShape AI leadership and sponsors

WeShape AI Ideas is where ideas spark into movements.

We are building dynamic ideation spaces where members and experts come together to explore emerging topics—from generative AI ethics to workflow automation—through discussion, and collaboration.
Within these spaces, participants:
Exchange perspectives and challenge assumptions
Explore real-world use cases
Collaborate on early-stage ideas with the potential to reshape the localization industry
Our goal is to transform shared curiosity into collective intelligence and practical breakthroughs, while creating a strong pipeline of ideas for future incubation.

As WeShape AI grows across Global, GEO, and Chapter levels, consistent communication is essential to maintain brand cohesion, clarity, and impact.

The Content Strategy function ensures unified messaging, creative storytelling, and content flow across all WeShape AI activities. This role will help translate the WeShape AI content strategy into a consistent, actionable editorial rhythm across LinkedIn, initiative announcements, events, focus area campaigns, community engagement, leadership visibility, and performance reporting.

The ideal volunteer is a strong writer, strategic thinker, and collaborative marketing-minded individual who can help turn WeShape AI's mission into content that is clear, credible, inclusive, and action-oriented.

Responsibilities:

What we\'re looking for:
Experience developing/executing content strategy, editorial calendars, thought leadership, social media content, and community-driven communications.
Strong writing and editorial judgment, with the ability to create content that is bold, direct, knowledgeable, inclusive, and human.

You will manage and grow the Chapter’s local membership in the Japan Chapter, but you will also get actively involved in creating and planning events.

Women in Localization Texas Chapter is recruiting one volunteer who will take on the role of Student Intern.

This role is suited to a student, recent graduate, or anyone looking to gain an insight into the management of a Women in Localization Chapter, gain professional experience and an overall feel for the localization industry through the initiatives driven by their Chapter and the Global Community.

The role will also allow you to grow your network and receive on-the-job mentorship from more senior localization professionals. You will report to the Chapter Manager.

Desirable: Experience (current or past) volunteering organizations similar to Women in Localization
