Program: Marketing

Title: Editorial Project Manager

Number of openings: 1
Location: Anywhere

Responsibilities: This exciting role is ideal for someone wanting to gain experience managing people and learn about the content creation process. The Editorial Project Manager will assist with new content writer recruiting and onboarding, content assignment tracking and scheduling and editorial calendar management. English proficiency preferred, as some light proofreading or editing tasks may be included.

Skills: People Management, Project Management, Detail Oriented, Creative Writing.

Commitment Expected: 1-3 hours/week, including availability for monthly Marketing All-Hands Meeting.

 

Program: Marketing

Title: Content Creator

Location(s): 3 US, 3 Europe, 2 Asia

Volunteer Responsibilities

Our content is very important to us. It’s where we bring all of our chapters and members together through sharing blogs, press releases and chapter and industry events. Keeping the flow of communication fluid to our team and our 5,000+ worldwide members is critical and the Content Creators will be key members of the Marketing Committee.

Content Coordinators write marketing content including (but not limited to) blogs, articles, press releases and social media posts (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn). 

Skills

Required:

  • Ability to develop and suggest ideas for new content
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and works well in a team environment, attention to detail, demonstrated follow-through 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Research and interviews are necessary to create the content

Nice to have:

  • Interest or experience with marketing, copywriting, journalism or content creation 
  • Interest or experience in researching topics and interviewing 
  • Basic understanding about social media and writing posts for different social media platforms

Commitment Expected

  • Delivery of 1 blog or article every 6 months (2 blogs/year)
  • Available for monthly Marketing All-Hands Meetings

Program: Marketing

Title: Global Social Media Chapter Liaison

Number of openings: 1
Location: Anywhere

Responsibilities: The Global Social Media Chapter Liaison will be the point of contact between individual chapters and the Marketing Committee to clear doubts in relation to local social media postings. They will notify Chapter Social Media managers about global postings and help with the onboarding of new chapters by providing all the necessary marketing material (Brand-book and Style Guide, Social Media Guidelines, How to Create Events, etc.) and by answering questions to better reflect the spirit of W.L. as a whole.

SkillsSome experience with social media practices, strong and sensitive communicator, attention to detail, demonstrated follow-through, leadership skills, flexible and responsive to many simultaneous needs.

Nice to have: Experience working with multicultural teams (preferred)

Commitment ExpectedEstimated 2-4 hours/week of activity; possibly more during event peak times. Available for monthly Marketing All-Hands Meetings.

Title: Project Manager – Sponsorship and Partnership 

Number of openings: 1

Location: Anywhere

Responsibilities: W.L. has several marketing commitments to fulfill as per our agreements with our supporters. This role will maintain communication between Sponsorship and Strategic Partnership programs regarding social media and content requirements (with the exception of landing pages and producing event marketing). The Project Manager will oversee all social media and digital commitments. 

Skills: Relationship Management, experience with Hootsuite and WordPress preferred, but not required. People Management, Project Management

Commitment Expected: 2-4 hours/week

 

Program: Technology
Title: WordPress Manager + Marketing Liaison

Number of openings: 1
Location: EMEA or U.S.
Description:
The Technology Committee of Women in Localization is looking for volunteers who are interested in the technical aspects of managing a big global volunteer organization, are enthusiastic about women issues and contributing to localization industry, and would love to become a part of a big family of women across the world.

This is a volunteer position for a minimum 1 year commitment for approx.10 hrs/month. Overall duties of technology committee members:

  • Assist with development of a technology strategy for WL online platforms
  • Review current technology, operations and risks
  • Identify Technology opportunities
  • Oversee operational technology risks
  • Support the US-based and international chapters from technology point of view
  • Maintain policies and procedures of WL technology strategy

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Own our web platform WordPress (infrastructure, not content)
  • Build membership sign-on page and process for membership sign-up.
  • Create an area with gated content accessible only to members.
  • Serve as a liaison with the Marketing team regarding website infrastructure
  • Prerequisites: Knowledge of website infrastructure, ability to coordinate technology with marketing strategy

The ideal candidate needs to meet the following criteria:

  • Expertise in technology and desire to learn more
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in creating processes and procedures
  • Experience in database management and/or web development (desired)
  • Some experience in evaluating technology opportunities
  • Some experience in the implementation and support of virtual platforms
  • Knowledgeable in technology and desire to learn more
  • Desire to grow, work with women across the globe and be exposed to new situations and mentorship opportunities
  • Preferred background: Software localization engineering and/or computer science; database administration and/or security networks; web development

Title: Eventbrite Manager – Chapter Liaison

Number of openings: 1
Location: Anywhere
Description:

Own and manage our event management tool Eventbrite

  • Serve as a technology liaison with our US-based and international chapters
  • Monitor compliance, provide Eventbrite support to all global chapters, document processes.
  • Prerequisites: Attention to detail, ability to communicate with and coordinate with chapter managers across the whole globe, ability to implement our strategy across chapters
  • Participate in bi-weekly calls of Technology Program. Engage and collaborate on technology and cross-functional initiatives

Time Commitment: 5 hours per month
