Allison McDougall Appointed as Chairwoman of Women in Localization

WALTHAM, Mass., Jan. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Lionbridge Technologies, Inc., today announced that its Vice President of Emerging Business Allison McDougall has been named chairwoman of Women in Localization, the leading professional organization for women in the localization industry. McDougall will succeed Women in Localization Co-Founder Eva Klaudinyova as Board Chair for a one-year term, and is the first representative from a localization provider to assume the role.

Established in 2008 in the San Francisco Bay Area, the mission of Women in Localization is to foster a global community for the advancement of women and the localization industry. The organization serves more than 2,200 members globally with chapters throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas. Women in Localization advances the careers of women by sharing the latest best practices and innovations in the industry, providing professional and personal support to conquer challenges in the workplace, as well as through events, mentorship, education and professional networking programs. McDougall is joined by other 2017 Board Members Silvia Avary, Eva Klaudinyova, Liesl Leary, Lynda Roslund, Anna Schlegel and Loy Searle.

McDougall began her career in localization more than 20 years ago and has worked on the client and agency sides of the industry. As Vice President of Emerging Business at Lionbridge, she manages a strategic global client portfolio across North America and Asia, and is responsible for a team of business development and account management professionals dedicated to helping some of the world’s leading brands with their customer experience management strategy. McDougall is an active thought leader within the industry and has spoken at events organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, GALA, LocWorld, Slator, Translators without Borders, Translation Association of China (TAC) and Information Development World.
