WLDE: Expert Discussion, Recruiting Localization Professionals Post-Brexit
March 9, 2021 @ 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Brexit is finalized, the transition period officially ended, and the United Kingdom has left the European Union. When all is said and done, how does this impact localization jobs?
In our upcoming event we invite two experts, Raisa McNab and Leona Jackson, to share their perspectives on the impact that the new EU-UK relationship has on localization companies, freelancers, recruitment and the quality of linguistic services. We will take a look at the legal foundations of Brexit and its practical consequences. Our experts will share how they are adapting to this new reality and how they’re overcoming present challenges.
About Raisa McNab
Raisa is CEO at the UK’s Association of Translation Companies, representing 200 member companies operating in the UK’s language services industry. A translator by training, Raisa has worked in the language services industry for the best part of two decades, from heading project management at a translation company to developing ISO standards for the industry – and pretty much anything and everything in between!
As the ATC’s chief Brexit untangler, and a native Finn in the UK, Raisa has a wealth of first-hand experience of the changing pre- and post-Brexit landscape for the language services industry.
