AI has fundamentally changed how we work and live. With the growing adoption of NMT within organizations across industries, customer expectations for speed, cost and quality haves shifted. Language professionals have had to adapt to new, automated workflows and find ways to work with rapidly evolving technology. With AI in the mix, translation workflows are becoming faster, smarter, and even more agile. While many of the articles around AI seem like science fiction, there are real opportunities for language professionals to embrace new human-in-the-loop workflows and explore new, AI-enabled ways of working with content. 

This session will focus on hot topics such as minimizing bias, explainable AI, and can continuous quality improvement, as well as  and how they these topics apply to real-world content challenges. We will demystify NMT and AI to help you talk the talk and walk the walk. You will be able to explain how these AI concepts apply to real -challenges faced by language professionals and will have the confidence to work with these new technologies to address the content challenges of this rapidly changing business environment.

Jane joined RWS in 2018 and works as a Product Marketing Manager for RWS’s machine translation and artificial intelligence products. Jane brings over 20 years of experience in product marketing, product management and consulting around technologies of data-driven global businesses, such as data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence. 

Victoria Pratt, Senior Solutions Consultant, Machine Learning, RWS

With RWS since 2017, Victoria is part of the Machine Learning Consulting team. Victoria joined the localization sector in 2005 and has been helping clients with their mMachine tTranslation journey since 2006 when the industry was still running on rules- based systems.

L’intelligence articifielle (IA) a révolutionné de manière fondamentale notre façon de travailler et de vivre. Avec l’adoption croissante de la traduction automatique neuronale au sein des organisations de tous les secteurs, les attentes des clients en matière de rapidité, de coût et de qualité ont changé. Les langagiers ont dû s’adapter aux nouveaux flux de travail automatisés et trouver des façons de travailler avec des technologies en constante évolution. Grâce à l’intelligence artificielle, les flux de travail en traduction deviennent plus rapides, plus efficaces et encore plus agiles. Bien que de nombreux articles sur l’IA puissent ressembler à de la science-fiction, il existe de réelles occasions pour les langagiers d’adopter de nouveaux flux de travail automatisés avec intervention humaine et d’explorer de nouvelles façons de traiter le contenu grâce à l’IA.

Jane s’est jointe à RWS en 2018 où elle travaille à titre de responsable de la commercialisation des produits de traduction automatique et d’intelligence artificielle pour l’entreprise. Elle arrive avec une expérience de plus de 20 ans dans le domaine de la commercialisation et de la gestion de produits ainsi que des services de consultation entourant les technologies d’entreprises mondiales axées sur les données, y compris la science des données, l’apprentissage automatique et l’intelligence artificielle. 

Victoria Pratt, consultante principale en solutions, Apprentissage automatique, RWS

Victoria travaille chez RWS depuis 2017, où elle fait partie de l’équipe de consultation en apprentissage automatique. Elle a intégré le secteur de la localisation en 2005 et elle assiste les clients dans leur parcours en matière de traduction automatique depuis 2006, période pendant laquelle le secteur était encore dominé par les systèmes basés sur des règles.
