Are you new to localization, and wondering where to begin? Confused by all the acronyms – MT, TM, TMS, IMS, AI, ML, LSP, and more? This is a webinar for those new to localization. It’s an introduction to language management and automation technologies, and explains the terms and acronyms that you’ll encounter when talking to language service providers, software vendors, and companies that have already gone global.

About the speaker: Alison Toon has over 25 years of experience in the translation and localization industry with an emphasis in management of translation and localization tools, processes, architecture, and operation for content management, and e-business services across enterprises. Prior to joining CSA Research, she led Hewlett-Packard’s (HP’s) globalization program, a transformational initiative across all of HP’s business units, products, and customer lifecycle. Alison developed and managed the enterprise translation management architecture team, strategy, and technology, and was responsible for the tools, operation and business processes that managed all translations for HP. In addition to her tenure at HP, she has worked for language services and technology vendors including SDL and Smartling, and as an independent global business consultant. She focused on managing complex content, translation, and globalization strategies by advising on operations, business processes, and technologies.
This event will be hosted and moderated by the Education and Content team within the Global Community of Women in Localization.
