About the Speaker:

Georganne holds a PhD in applied linguistics and a M.S. in sociolinguistics. She is a federally certified court interpreter and a certified SOSI immigration court interpreter, as well as a member of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC), the International Federation of Translators (FIT), the American Translators Association and the Mexican College of Conference Interpreters (CMIC), with some 50 years of experience in the fields of interpretation and translation, as well as a teacher and evaluator of new generations. From 2006-2009 she was the Director of Language Policy at the INALI (Instituto Nacional de Lenguas Indígenas) in the Mexican federal government and from 2015 to date the president of the non-profit organization Public Service and Community Interpreters in Indigenous Languages (ITSPyC) where one of her main interests is the training of conference, court and community interpreters in Mexico’s indigenous languages.

The event is open to everyone but the recording will only be available to Women in Localization members.
