The video game industry has seen explosive growth in the past years, and the demand for video game localization is rising. In this panel talk, our two game localization specialists, Aurélie Perrin and Linda Geschwandtner, will shed some light on this industry and discuss:

  • what skills translators and project managers need to succeed in game localization
  • how a typical assignment looks like
  • what software you need to get started.

OUR SPEAKERS:

Linda Geschwandtner

German Game Translator and Project Manager

Linda has been working as a freelance translator and linguistic games tester for ten years. Recently, she took on the additional role of project manager at Locadile, where she helps to bring great games to players all over the world.

Aurélie Perrin

English to French Video Game Translator

Aurélie has worked on nearly 100 games since 2014, when she entered the industry. She also teaches game localization and business management for master’s students at the University of Burgundy in Dijon. Currently, she is chair of the IGDA (International Game Developers Association) Localization SIG (Special Interest Group).
