WLUK Event – The Power of Words: Dialogues on Transcreation

Are you an advocate of the pivotal role played by creativity in the translation process? Have you ever frowned upon a text that ‘sounds translated’, wondering where its localisation went wrong?
Then come join us at our next Women in Localization UK event, which will take place in London on Tuesday, 3 March 2020, at the Mother Tongue offices in Southwark.
At “The Power of Words: Dialogues on Transcreation” we will approach the topic of creative translation from different angles, whether that’s briefing, execution, project management or the academic framework that supports it.
We have three fantastic speakers lined-up, and a fourth who will be revealed soon. We are thrilled to have on stage Chris Hodgson, Managing Director of Mother Tongue, Dr Ana Guerberof Arenas, Senior Lecturer in Translation and Multimodal Technology at University of Surrey, and María Martínez Sanabria, Spanish/English copywriter for HomeAway. Giulia Tarditi from our W.L. UK core team will be moderating the discussion, which we hope will see lots of you very engaged with the topic.
We have some top secret ideas which we are working on to make the evening truly interactive, so stay tuned.

* 20:45 to 21:30: More networking and nibbles!
Registration: There is no charge for attending this event, however, registration is essential, so that we can accommodate everybody in terms of space and refreshments. Photo ID will be required to access the building.

After logging in your Eventbrite account, locate your order on the Tickets page and click to see your registration details.
