Women in Localization Colorado is recruiting one volunteer who will take on the role of Chapter Manager in 2023.

You will lead the Women in Localization Colorado Chapter and report to the GEO Manager.

You will be responsible for setting up the team, ensuring that all roles are covered and recruiting new volunteers as well as for Chapter engagement and growth and for progressing the W.L. goals at Chapter level.

WLGC-Education and Content is committed to the W.L. vision of making content accessible to all members and volunteers. The main objective of this team is creating and managing educational content and career coaching materials. Focus on creating events and materials for translation students and early careers members, organizing four events per year on diverse topics for our global community and work toward increasing membership from the student community.

Women in Localization has an opening for a volunteer Content Resourcing Manager to support our members in learning and development processes. In this role, you will be working closely with the Content Manager on sourcing content to assist newcomers to the industry, finding contributors to write short articles on a set of topics - helping members just starting to find their place in their localization career. You don’t need to know everything about all aspects of the localization industry, but it will help if you know the right people to go to with the type of questions the newcomers ask!

We will be creating short pieces of content on a variety of topics. We aim to make the content easy to understand and easy to find, with one topic per article. But as the Content Resourcing Manager you’ll be able to contribute your ideas to help influence the program to help our members.

Women in Localization Texas is recruiting one volunteer who will take on the role of Sponsorship Manager.

You will support the Women in Localization Texas Chapter and report to the Chapter Manager.

You will help with sourcing, coordinating and nurturing local relationships with potential or existing sponsors, but you will also get actively involved in creating and planning our events.

Responsibilities:

- Sources, coordinates and nurtures relationships with potential and existing sponsors
- Creates and manages records of sponsors, including level of support available, tracks donations etc.
- Acts as the main point of contact with sponsors to ensure the Chapter’s requirements are met and sponsors’ ROI is delivered
- Maintains regular contact with sponsors, following up with identified action items
- Ensures that sponsors pay expenses directly and not to Women in Localization
- Works closely with Events, Marketing and Social Media Managers on deliverables
- Analyses post event metrics to understand which event attendees could be potential sponsors

Requirements:
- An active member of Women in Localization or proven interested in becoming one
- Experience in the Translation and Localization industry
- Communicative, engaging and enthusiastic person
- Fluent in English
- Desirable: Experience (current or past) volunteering with Women in Localization or other similar organizations

Expected Commitment:
- Available to participate in weekly Chapter team calls (30-45 minutes)
- Average 2 hours per week for role tasks

This role is suited to a student, recent graduate, or anyone looking to gain an insight into the management of a Women in Localization Chapter, gain professional experience and an overall feel for the localization industry through the initiatives driven by their Chapter and the Global Community.

The role will also allow you to grow your network and receive on-the-job mentorship from more senior localization professionals. You will report to the Chapter Manager.

The Volunteer Recruitment Volunteer reports to the Operations & Metrics Program Director.
The Volunteer Recruitment Volunteer is responsible for recruiting new volunteers and works in collaboration with the members of the Operations & Metrics Program. Their main responsibilities are liaising with volunteer candidates and filling the recruitment needs of all our programs.

Responsibilities:

The Volunteer Recruitment Volunteer is in charge of:
- Liaising with Program Directors
- Updating the Volunteer Opportunities page on the Women in Localization website
- Contacting potential volunteers depending on the needs of our programs
- Fielding incoming enquiries from volunteer candidates
- Streamlining the volunteer application process
- Liaising with the Marketing Program on advertising new volunteer positions
- Facilitating the transition to the new recruitment process on the Intranet

Commitment Expected: The overall commitment for this role is around 2-3 hours/week. The volunteer should be available to attend the Operations & Metrics team meeting every other Thursday at 5pm CET.
