SUNNYVALE, California, USA, February 7, 2023. Women in Localization (W.L.), the leading professional organization for women in the localization industry, is proud to announce its 2023 Global Sponsors.

The ten sponsors for 2023 are a mix of new and returning localization organizations. New Sponsors Smartling and Intento join as Platinum Sponsors, MasterWord as a Gold Sponsor, and BLEND as a Silver Sponsor. Acclaro, RWS, and Lionbridge are returning Gold Sponsors for 2023, and Acolad, Vistatec, and Welocalize are returning Silver Sponsors.

Global Sponsors and W.L. work closely to support a global community for the advancement of women in the localization industry through a variety of activities including panel discussions, workshops, International Women’s Day spotlights, and so much more.

Board Sponsor for Global Partnerships, Maria Kania, believes this year’s Sponsors will bring a diverse range of knowledge to W.L. in 2023.

“The varying expertise of each Global Sponsor offers the W.L. community unique opportunities for learning and training,” she said. “By supporting us financially, this group of new and returning Sponsors give Women in Localization a chance to build more programs and offer exciting events to our members. We are so thankful to all of them!”

Bryan Murphy, CEO of Platinum Sponsor Smartling, sees value in supporting and collaborating with Women in Localization.

“Taking care of our people is a core value at Smartling and we’re honored to extend that value to the industry by supporting Women in Localization this year,” Murphy said. “We believe gender diversity is critical as it leads to better decision-making, increased innovation, and improved financial performance for our customers, employees, and shareholders.”

Mark Hjerpe, Vice President of Global Sales from Platinum Sponsor Intento, agrees that supporting the next generation of women in the localization industry benefits our industry as a whole.

“Intento has always admired and supported W.L.’s mission of promoting the advancement of women in the localization industry,” Hjerpe said. “We’re proud to have the opportunity to ‘translate’ that admiration to concrete sponsorship, which will help further W.L.’s goals. We plan to use our sponsorship voice for education and advancement of new members of W.L. and the wider localization community.”

“We are excited to extend a warm welcome to Women in Localization’s 2023 Global Sponsors,” said Women in Localization President Carrie Fischer. “We appreciate their support to help keep our organization running and provide our volunteers with the tools to get the job done. We look forward to collaborating with our sponsors this year to bring amazing, useful, inspiring, and career-building content to our members!”
