MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA, USA, October 28, 2020. Women in Localization (W.L.), the leading professional organization for women in the localization industry, is delighted to announce the launch of a new Chapter in Ukraine. This will be W.L.’s twenty-sixth (26th) chapter.
Leading the Women in Localization Ukraine (WLUA) chapter is Chapter Manager Tetyana Struk, CEO of Linguistic Centre Translation and Localization Company. She is joined by Marta Chereshnovska from Lilt, Maria Malykhina from Technolex Translation Studio, Olesya Zaytseva, Owner of Just Translate It, Iryna Lebedyeva from ILTech Translations and Iryna Tulovska from Postmodern.
“I saw too many brilliant women who couldn’t succeed in the localization industry simply because they didn’t get enough support,” said Chapter Manager Tetyana Struk. “I hope our new chapter will help them to reveal their skills and pursue their careers.”
Register to become a member then save your seat for the chapter’s inaugural event, which will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2020. The online event features an introduction to chapter leadership and discussion of plans for upcoming events and activities. The chapter’s goal is to encourage valuable networking and support for translation and localization professionals, students and enthusiasts. The chapter can also be found on Facebook and LinkedIn.
“Every woman in our leadership team has her own story about entering the localization industry. Mine started with aikido,” said Chapter Sponsorship Manager Iryna Tulovska.
“I mean, my localization career started literally with a good fight. So, I hope our stories will inspire and empower other women to conquer their fears and follow their dreams.”
In addition to their inaugural launch event this year, the Ukraine chapter plans a series of educational events in 2021 that focus on career opportunities, technology and some of the biggest challenges in the localization industry.
“If we want something great to happen, we need to step forward and take action,” said Chapter Manager Tetyana Struk. “It’s the only way to drive meaningful change.”
“We share the values of W.L. and are excited to become a part of the global community that supports women and celebrates their success,” said Olesya Zaytseva, Ukraine Chapter Social Media Manager.
“We are so happy to see a new chapter join our W.L. family,” said Women Localization President Loy Searle. “It takes an amazing group of women to ramp up a new chapter during these challenging times. These ladies are amazing. Congratulations, Ukraine Chapter. You rock!”
