MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, USA, June 8, 2022. Women in Localization (W.L.), the leading professional organization for women in the localization industry, is proud to announce a new partnership with the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS). MIIS is a specialized graduate school of Middlebury College based in Monterey, California, offering several industry-recognized graduate-level programs in translation, interpretation and localization management, among others.

Starting in the Fall semester of 2022, this partnership will offer Women in Localization volunteers and members an opportunity to receive a 25% tuition scholarship toward any localization program or localization-related individual class at MIIS.

“This is an incredible opportunity to uplevel your existing skills, learn something new, or get a comprehensive localization management education,” said Eva Klaudinyova, co-founder of Women in Localization and Associate Professor in the Translation and Localization Management (TLM) Program at MIIS who has spearheaded this collaboration. “Thanks to our hybrid delivery of classes and our Online Translation and Localization Management Program, you no longer need to be physically present to take classes at MIIS.”

Multiple ways to take advantage of the scholarship exist, either by taking specific classes as part of a personal continuing education initiative or by enrolling in the Master’s degree program.

“Those who are interested should also check with their employers to see if their company offers educational funding,” continues Eva Klaudinyova. “This benefit, combined with the tuition scholarship, is a wonderful way to accelerate your career.”

Classes can be joined over Zoom and are offered in multiple time slots to accommodate students across most time zones. Many classes categorized as “Online” classes in the schedule are also available to complete on your own time in weekly installments.

“We are excited to offer this learning opportunity to our volunteers and members,” said Klaudinyova. “We hope this scholarship will help you achieve your career aspirations in our thriving field at the intersection of language, culture, business, and technology.”

More information on classes, the application process, including application requirements, and the enrollment process can be found on the Women in Localization website or by contacting MIIS Recruitment at [email protected].
