The future of globalization is here, and it’s powered by artificial intelligence. But while AI is transforming our industry, women remain significantly underrepresented, particularly in technical and leadership roles. At Women in Localization, we see this not just as a challenge, but as an opportunity. That’s why we are proud to launch WeShape AI, a new global initiative to empower women to lead at the intersection of AI and globalization.
Despite a growing interest from professional women, 77% of whom want to gain GenAI skills, we face a persistent gender gap in the AI workforce. Less than 29% of the global AI workforce is female, and that number drops below 14% in leadership roles. These numbers are significant because they shape who influences the technology of the future. Without women at the development table, we risk creating technology that lacks cultural intelligence and truly global awareness.
WeShape AI is our answer.
Women in Localization is a vibrant, global community of over 16,000 linguists, technologists, and strategists. Our network is a hotbed of innovation, and we believe the next great global solution exists within it. WeShape AI is the platform designed to unlock this potential.
We aim to do more than just provide resources; we want to build a movement. Our goal is to position Women in Localization as the global hub for women-led AI and innovation in globalization.

AI & Innovation Labs: A dynamic, ongoing platform where our members can showcase their cutting-edge tools, models, and process innovations. These labs will feature live speakers and learning tracks to inspire and educate.
Mentorship & Incubation Tracks: Structured support to help our members turn great ideas into impactful, market-ready solutions.
Global AI & Innovation Awards: Celebrating outstanding member innovations in AI, judged at the Chapter, Geo, and Global levels, and sponsored by industry leaders in tech, AI, and localization.
For our members: WeShape AI is a place to shine, grow professionally, and build a powerful portfolio of work that showcases their expertise.
For the industry: This initiative creates a centralized hub for innovative, women-led solutions that will push the entire localization field forward, from optimizing workflows to fostering human-in-the-loop AI collaboration.
